Beenie Man fined $150,000 for COVID breach

Dancehall performing artist Beenie Man has been penalized $150,000 within the St Elizabeth Parish Court for breaking the disaster Risk Management Act.

He had before confessed. The 47­year­old global dancehall star was charged by the Black River police a year ago
December for facilitating an unlawful gathering at an area in Shrewsbury region, St Elizabeth, on Sunday, November
29, 2020.

An extra charge of breaking the Noise Abatement Act was tossed out during the DJ’s last court appearance. “Beenie
Man approved in lightweight of the very statistic that he mandatory to adopt a reliable policy only if he’s an eldest of the worldwide music native space,” his specialized person Roderick Gordon had abovementioned in the month of April.

He was captured and charged for penetrating the Disaster Risk Management Act and the Noise Abatement Act.

In April, he argued not blameworthy to penetrating the Noise Abatement Act and that offense was excused.

The DRMA is utilized as among the actions here to control the spread of the (COVID­19) that has so far slaughtered
863 individuals while tainting 47,396 since the principal case was recognized in March a year ago.
