South African Zulu Queen dies unexpectedly shortly after the King’s demise; authorities maintain she was not murdered.

Date:

The queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu’s husband died from diabetes-related sickness a while ago, and just a few weeks following that incident, the queen dies an untimely death too, on Friday April 30.

Mantfombi, the Queen who aged 65 at the time of her death, was one of the six wives of King Goodwill Zwelithini. The King Goodwill passed away on March 12, 2021 in the eastern South African city of Durban. He was 72 years old during the time of his demise.

The succession of the Queen as Regent of the Zulu Nation was carried out in accordance with the king’s royal will.
In the attendance of more than 200 adherents of the Royal Family, His Majesty’s will was read on March 24, 2021.

King Zwelithini had five wives then, apart from the Queen Regent and 28 children at the time of his death. On July 26, 2014, when she was 18 years old, the King married Queen Zola Mafu, his sixth wife.

Her Majesty the late Queen Mantfombi effectively ruled the Zulu monarchy at this time after her husband’s demise. Now with her passing, the monarch’s family is trying to make decisions regarding succession before the mourning period has finished.

The Zulu queen’s Prime Minister, the 92-year-old Mangosuthu Buthelezi, said that claims that she was poisoned were completely false.

He remarked, that the Queen’s demise has left them completely bereft.

Following her husband’s death, Queen Mantfombi was rushed to a hospital last Thursday, precisely one month after her succession as regent.

In the wake of Zwelithini’s oldest son’s death in November, and of the king’s demise in March, the Queen has now become the third senior Zulu monarch to be buried during the last few months.
