The United Arab Emirates sends an aircraft delivering 30 metric tons of relief supplies to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Date:

The United Arab Emirates decided to send thirty metric tonnes of emergency food stocks to Saint Vincent, benefiting around 5,000 people, in order to mitigate the humanitarian consequences of the La Soufrière volcanic eruptions in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean region, which culminated in the dislocation of nearly 15,000 people from local communities.

“The Emirates always aims to give all required assistance to fraternal and friendly nations in situations that need cooperation and collaboration at all dimensions,” said Bader Abdullah Al Matroshi, Emirati Envoy to Cuba and UAE delegate to the Association of Caribbean States.

“The delivery of a plane full of essential food supplies to the Saint Vincent residents underscores the United Arab Emirates’ ongoing commitment to address the fundamental needs of individuals afflicted by natural catastrophes,” he said.
